Service

The worship service that happened this morning focused on a generous heart.  I was so blessed with the Word of God today. Some of us would not understand the value of giving to support the works of the church.

The Word of God focused on us having a generous heart. As believers of Christ Jesus, we have to understand that those who have faith are children of Abraham (Galatians 3:7) and that those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith (Galatians 3:9). The promises of God made to the descendants of Abraham - to the Israelites, we now share. Because we are children of Abraham by our faith. As stated in Galatians 3:29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. The law which was given to the Israelites was not to those who believe in Christ Jesus. For believers of Christ were not bound to the law. As stated in Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Hence, the law that was given to the descendants of Jacob (Israelites) in Malachi 3:6-12 was for the Israelites, however, there is a promise. Malachi 3:11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.  As stated in 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Christ Jesus said in Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” This was evident in Acts 4:32-34 when the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them.

God has enlightened me with His Words today. I truly now understood what giving is.
